Keep originals together

Gather documents you already have, such as correspondence and reports. Preserve original files and avoid changing dates, messages, or photographs.

Make a question list

Separate your questions from your records. Note what you would like explained, from the meaning of a letter to how you will hear about progress.

Agree on a secure way to share

Ask the lawyer’s office how records should be provided. Verify the recipient before sending sensitive information, and avoid public links or shared devices.
